Peak Awards
The Highest Achievement in Scouting
Peak Awards are the highest youth achievement awards in each section of Scouting. They recognise a young person's commitment, leadership, personal growth, community involvement, and spirit of adventure throughout their Scouting journey.
Achieving a Peak Award is no small feat. It requires dedication, perseverance, and a willingness to challenge yourself across a broad range of activities and experiences. Along the way, youth members develop valuable life skills, gain confidence, and demonstrate the values of Scouting in action.
Peak Awards are designed to provide a pathway of progression through Scouting, with each award building on the skills, experiences, and leadership developed in previous sections.
More Than Just a Badge
Peak Awards encourage young people to:
- Challenge themselves and set personal goals
- Develop leadership and teamwork skills
- Participate in adventurous activities
- Contribute to their community
- Explore new interests and experiences
- Reflect on their personal growth
- Demonstrate the Scout Method and Scout Promise & Law in action
These awards recognise not only what a young person has achieved, but also who they have become through their experiences.

A Journey of Growth
While receiving a Peak Award is a significant accomplishment, the real reward lies in the journey itself. The experiences, friendships, skills, challenges, and lessons learned along the way help develop young people into confident, capable, and community-minded adults.
Whether a member is just starting in Joey Scouts or working towards their final award in Rover Scouts, every Peak Award represents a commitment to personal growth, adventure, and striving to be the very best version of yourself.
Peak Awards aren't just milestones in Scouting, they're a celebration of learning, leadership, service, and achievement.
